The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) is committed to building a lasting connection to the Pikes Peak region by preserving and sharing our cultural history and accomplishes this mission through innovative exhibits, educational outreach, and programming, and preservation of its object, and archival collections.
With that being said, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest permanent exhibit, Evidence: Finding the Facts About William Jackson Palmer. Years in the making, this exhibit will debunk persistent myths about General Palmer and his family by inviting visitors to examine evidence firsthand.
By doing so, viewers will come away with a deeper and more meaningful understanding of our city founder’s unique story and our community’s history. The Evidence exhibit will encourage critical thinking, foster historical analysis and provide a behind the scenes look at the work of historians and archaeologists.
How do we know what we know about the past? How does this change over time? How can we tell fact from fiction? The answer is evidence! In the case of the Palmer Family and estate employees, we have never had more evidence than we do today.
This exhibit is presented by the Strake Foundation. Located in the beautifully restored El Paso County Courthouse, the Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and offers free admission. For more information, visit www.cspm.org.
This event promises to be a fun time! Join your family, friends, and neighbors of Pikes Place on San Miguel Apartments in Colorado Springs, Colorado and see what all the buzz is about!
