A World Without Bees? See What That Might Be Like During the Exhibit, Farewell to Bees

This Friday, August 2nd, join Art 111 Gallery & Art Supply for a special show dedicated to bees. During “Farewell to Bees,” many local artists and members of The Unsteady Hand will visually explore the theme of bee extinction. Enjoy a new perspective on this headline-grabbing issue this Friday at Art 111 Gallery & Art Supply.

“Farewell to Bees” features the 2019 Peak Arts Prize winner for Individual Artist, Thom Phelps’ sculpture “A Farewell to Bees.” Joining the collection are many other artists from the Pikes Peak region as well as members of The Unsteady Hand, an artist collective.

During the show, artists will display works that explore the ubiquitous and unnerving imagery of bee die-off. Additionally, the artists will delve into various aspects of the issue, including its causes, importance, whether or not bee extinction is a hoax, the extinction’s impact on civilization, culprits, other pollinators, and how the bee has been historically depicted.

Interested in learning more? Consider joining the gallery on August 16th for an artist talk and acknowledgment open to the public, where attendees are encouraged to discuss the theme of the show, its imagery and how it makes them feel. Guests are welcome to participate in the dialogue.

Approach a hot topic with beautiful, thought-provoking art during “Farewell to Bees.” Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. To learn more about Art 111 Gallery & Art Supply, visit www.artgallerycoloradosprings.com.
