Cottonwood Center is a nonprofit arts complex located in downtown Colorado Springs. Cottonwood holds over 80 studio artists, gallery spaces, a theater, and classrooms. Whether you’re seeking space in which to create, a creative community with which to collaborate, a unique setting for your special event, or a quiet afternoon of taking in art – Cottonwood Center has what you need.
This Wednesday, January 8th, join Cottonwood Center in viewing the outstanding work of local abstract expressionist Steve Wells at 9:00 AM!
Steve Wells is a local Colorado Springs abstract expressionist. His work is inspired by Post-War Expressionism and Pop Art with influences ranging from Hans Hofmann, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, and Peter Max. Playing heavily on the effects of thick texture and vibrant colors, Wells’ work is delightfully versatile, expressing both the artist’s vision and story for each piece while still leaving room for the viewer to find their own emotional connection with the composition.
Cottonwood is more than just an arts organization. It promotes the exploration of a creative life, whether you are an artist or an arts patron, a reader, a collector or a listener. Cottonwood Center for the Arts strives to provide the highest quality arts and culture experience to the community and its guests.
Learn more about a local abstract artist when you make plans to see this new exhibit! The Art of Steve Wells is free to attend. Don’t miss out on the chance to see it while you can! To learn more, please contact Cottonwood Center at (719) 520-1899 or visit www.cottonwoodcenterforthearts.com.
